OVARIAN TUMOUR REMOVED SURGICALLY AT A 90 REDUCTION IN PRICE
A distraught Arshiya Sultana had given up all hope after being rejected by multiple hospitals in Hyderabad for the treatment of her 16 pound cancerous tumour. When she entered the Indo-US Hospital at Malakpet, little did she know that her life was going to change for the best
Would you be okay if your bank balance dictated whether you live another day? The answer is going to be a resounding 'no!'. However, this is a cruel reality that most people live with. In 2023, India surpassed China to become the populous country in the world, but we are unprepared in every aspect. Its healthcare is woefully inadequate and the pandemic gave us a heartbreaking glimpse of our lack of readiness to withstand a crisis.
Socio-economic disparities worsen the already limited accessibility to vital healthcare services. Ayesha Sultana fell victim to this unjust inequality. For over a year, she endured the pain of a cancerous tumour in her ovary - unable to afford the necessary treatment. As a mother of three daughters, including a specially-abled son, and with an absent husband . Arshiya was left helpless due to her economic circumstances.
